US ski resorts, celebrated for their excellent snow conditions and extensive seasons, offer varied terrain across thousands of acres, accommodating all levels of skiers and snowboarders. These resorts, including prominent names such as Aspen, Vail, and Park City, are spread across the diverse landscapes of the United States, from the Rocky Mountains to the Sierra Nevadas. Known for their world-class skiing, fast chairlifts, and gondolas, American slopes boast meticulous grooming, expansive open trails, and both challenging back bowls and gentle greens. The charm of these destinations also includes their wild west town vibes and some of the quietest slopes around, enhancing the skiing experience. Complementing these are luxurious accommodations and exceptional service, further solidifying the US's reputation as a top destination for winter sports.
Vail is one of the largest ski resorts in the US, with vast back bowls and a polished village at the base. Aspen offers four mountains under one lift ticket – Snowmass for families, Highlands for experts, Buttermilk for beginners, and Ajax for a classic Aspen day. Breckenridge has a historic Main Street and high-altitude terrain, while Steamboat is known for its dry, light snow and authentic Western town atmosphere. Telluride adds dramatic San Juan Mountain scenery and a quieter, more remote feel.
Park City is one of the most accessible US resorts from the UK – Salt Lake City airport is just 35 minutes away. The resort is vast, with terrain for all levels and a walkable historic town centre. Deer Valley, just next door, takes a more refined approach: limited daily tickets, immaculate grooming, and a polished, crowd-free feel that suits families and comfort-seekers.
Jackson Hole is the benchmark for expert skiing in the US. Steep chutes, deep powder, and the famous Corbet’s Couloir draw serious skiers from around the world. The town of Jackson adds Western character with saloons and elk antler arches. Killington on the East Coast is the largest resort in the eastern US and offers a long season with varied terrain. For those who want a mix of challenge and luxury, Aspen Highlands’ Highland Bowl is one of the most iconic expert runs in North America.
Beaver Creek is a strong family pick – wide, well-groomed runs, a welcoming atmosphere, and freshly baked cookies served at the end of the ski day. Keystone is another good option with dedicated children’s areas and night skiing. Park City and Steamboat also work well for families, with quality ski schools and plenty to do off the slopes.
Yes. US resorts offer a different experience to the Alps – bigger mountains, drier snow, and ski towns with genuine character. The long-haul flight is worth it for the terrain and atmosphere. WeSki packages include flights and transfers, so the logistics are handled.
Fly into Denver for Colorado resorts like Vail, Aspen, and Steamboat. Salt Lake City serves Park City and Deer Valley, with a short transfer. Jackson Hole has its own airport. WeSki packages include transfers from the nearest airport.
Lift tickets and dining tend to be pricier than in Europe, particularly at flagship resorts like Vail and Aspen. That said, accommodation can offer good value, and the scale of terrain means you get a lot for your money on the mountain. Multi-day passes often reduce the daily cost significantly.
The season runs from late November to mid-April at most resorts. January and February offer the most reliable powder. March brings warmer temperatures and longer days, with good snow still holding at higher altitudes.
Most visitors from the UK book 7–10 nights to make the most of the long-haul flight. WeSki packages are flexible on trip length, so you can tailor the duration to suit your plans and budget.

I usually book flights, ground transportation, hotel, ski rental and lift tickets myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - ground transportation arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the vacation would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I'll use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfers and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
