Canada is a dream for skiers and snowboarders. Think deep, dependable snow, long seasons, and big-mountain views. Resorts are spread across the country, from the coastal peaks of British Columbia to the Rockies in Alberta, many set inside national parks with stunning scenery and the chance to spot wildlife. You’ll find well-groomed runs, wide tree-lined trails, and modern lifts that keep queues moving. Off the mountain, there are great hotels, friendly towns, and a warm welcome wherever you go.
Whistler Blackcomb is one of the best family destinations in North America – it has dedicated kids’ zones, excellent ski schools, and a pedestrianised village with plenty to do off the slopes. Banff is another strong option, with three ski areas nearby and a town full of restaurants, hot springs, and wildlife spotting opportunities.
Kicking Horse is a standout for experienced skiers – steep chutes, deep powder, and uncrowded runs make it feel like a locals’ secret. Fernie is another powder magnet with a laid-back mining-town character and some of the most consistent snowfall in the Canadian Rockies. Both are quieter and more affordable than Whistler.
Whistler Blackcomb is the obvious choice for groups – the village has a huge range of bars, restaurants, and nightlife, and the terrain is varied enough to keep everyone happy regardless of ability. Banff’s town centre also has a strong après scene, with craft breweries and late-night spots spread along its main strip.
Canada isn’t traditionally a budget destination, but there are ways to get more for your money. Fernie and Kicking Horse are significantly cheaper than Whistler for lift passes, accommodation, and dining. Whistler village (as distinct from Whistler Blackcomb resort) also has more affordable lodging options slightly further from the base.
Very. Canada offers some of the best snow in the world, uncrowded slopes compared to the Alps, and a welcoming culture. The resorts tend to be larger and more spread out, which means more room to explore.
Direct flights from the UK to Vancouver (for Whistler) or Calgary (for Banff, Fernie, and Kicking Horse) take around nine to ten hours. WeSki packages include transfers from the airport to your resort.
It depends on the resort. Whistler is comparable to top European destinations, while Fernie and Kicking Horse are noticeably more affordable. The exchange rate can work in your favour too, making on-the-ground costs more manageable than they first appear.
January to March is the sweet spot. January and February bring the deepest snow, while March offers longer days and slightly warmer temperatures. Some resorts stay open into April.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
