Jasná and Tatranská Lomnica both offer plenty for families, with terrain and amenities built around young skiers, beginners as much as confident ones. Jasná has three dedicated children's zones, plus a Fun Zone with tunnels and banked curves for a playful introduction to the slopes. A short bus ride connects the resort to Tatralandia, making it easy to plan family fun off the slopes. Tatranská Lomnica has its own dedicated ski area for children from age three, along with an indoor fun park and playground, plus snow tubing and sledging for activities off the slopes.
Jasná has dedicated beginner areas at both of its base stations, with wide, gentle runs and a straightforward progression onto easy blue runs. As Slovakia's largest resort, with over 50km of pistes, there's always room to keep exploring as you build confidence. Tatranská Lomnica's beginner terrain sits on the lower mountain, with well-groomed slopes running through forest glades. Since the steeper terrain is higher up, beginners get the lower mountain largely to themselves, without faster skiers passing through.
Jasná and Tatranská Lomnica both offer serious terrain for off-piste enthusiasts, as well as confident skiers looking to try it for the first time. Jasná has 12 designated freeride zones and has hosted rounds of the World Freeride Tour, with terrain that opens up above the treeline on both sides of Mount Chopok. Tatranská Lomnica offers a smaller but still serious freeride area off the summit at Lomnické Sedlo, with a vertical drop of over 1,700m and some of the steepest, most demanding terrain in the High Tatras.
Slovakia offers some of the best value skiing in Europe. Ski passes, food, drink, and accommodation cost significantly less than in the Alps, yet the lift infrastructure is modern and well-maintained. Self-catering apartments and mountain pensions are widely available too, offering good quality for the price.
Jasná and Tatranská Lomnica both have an established après-ski scene, each with its own character. Jasná's Happy End is a lively nightclub known for cheap drinks and a proper party atmosphere once the lifts close. Tatranská Lomnica's Humno is considered the most popular après spot in the High Tatras region, serving up hearty food and drink by day before turning into a lively bar as the evening goes on.
Yes. Jasná in particular rivals many mid-sized Alpine resorts for terrain quality and lift infrastructure. Tatranská Lomnica adds variety with dramatic scenery and high-altitude runs. Slovakia won't match the mega-resorts on piste kilometres, but the skiing is varied and the value is exceptional.
Fly into Poprad, which has direct budget flights from the UK. Tatranská Lomnica is about 15–20 minutes from the airport, and Jasná is around 45 minutes away. Kraków in Poland is an alternative gateway, about three hours by road. WeSki packages include transfers.

The season runs from December to late April in some resorts. January and February have the most reliable snow. March brings longer days and sunnier conditions, though snow can be less consistent at lower altitudes.
The euro. Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009, unlike neighbouring Poland, which still uses its own currency. Cards are widely accepted at resorts and in Poprad, but it's worth carrying some cash for smaller mountain restaurants or local buses.
Yes, at the main resorts. Both Jasná and Tatranská Lomnica cater heavily to international visitors, with ski schools, restaurant staff, and hotel teams generally comfortable in English. It's less widely spoken away from the resorts themselves, so a few basic Slovak phrases go a long way in smaller towns or villages.

4.9/5Je réserve habituellement moi-même les vols, les transferts, l'hôtel, la location du matériel de ski et les forfaits ski, mais cette année j'ai utilisé WeSki pour un séjour à Morzine. C'était tellement plus simple. Tout a parfaitement fonctionné - les transferts sont arrivés à l'heure et il y avait beaucoup de retours d'information tout au long du processus, ce qui vous donne confiance que les vacances se dérouleront sans problème.
Un service vraiment utile qui est beaucoup plus facile à utiliser que d'autres sites "tout compris". Il comble parfaitement le fossé entre une agence de voyage et la réservation du séjour par vous-même en ligne. J'utiliserai WeSki chaque fois que j'irai au ski à partir de maintenant.
Nous avons réservé un séjour au ski de dernière minute à Morzine via WeSki. Nous avions envisagé de réserver le séjour nous-mêmes, mais nous n'avons pas pu trouver un prix aussi avantageux que celui proposé par WeSki. L'entreprise a été super et nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème du début à la fin. Je passerai certainement de nouveau par eux pour réserver un autre week-end au ski.
Une expérience fluide du début à la fin. Je passais des heures à essayer d'organiser un week-end et j'ai réussi à le faire avec WeSki en quelques minutes et pour le même prix que si je l'avais réservé moi-même. Le vol, le transfert et l'hébergement étaient tous comme prévu et nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème.
